Makes 18 chewy, all-natural energy snacks perfect for the hiking trail or after a long run.

Preheat oven to 400°F.
Mix together oats, flour, and brown sugar.
Cut in butter until mix is crumbly. Add apple, raisins, carrots, cinnamon, and salt, mixing well. If the mixture is very dry, drizzle in a little cold water (but not too much)
Pat it into a greased 9×9 pan, bake for 40 minutes,
Cool in pan before cutting.
