If you’ve ever felt like biscuits were out of your wheelhouse, think again! Truly.
These are incredibly simple biscuits. All you have to remember is numbers 3-2-1… And the results are fluffy, buttery, melt in your mouth, biscuits.
Once you have the basic recipe down, feel free to mix add-ins to the dough; pieces of ham & cheese; fresh herbs; chives; cinnamon & sugar, etc.
Or, use them for a tasty fried chicken biscuit or smothered in creamy sausage gravy.
Prep time doesn’t include, mixing the ingredients together, so if you have them on hand it all comes together fast. If not, just factor a few extra minutes.
This recipe makes about 6 biscuits.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a medium bowl, add flour. Grate (like you would cheese) extra cold butter, into flour.
Using your hand, lightly swirl flour and butter together. (If using add ins, mix in flour at this time)
Add buttermilk.
Mix briefly together, just until ingredients are blended, try not to over mix .
Dump onto lightly floured surface and press into a “dinner plate” sized circle. Cut into 6- wedges.
In a heavy duty oven safe skillet, like a cast iron. Shape wedges into rounds and place tightly together in skillet.

Bake for about 25 minutes, until biscuit tops are slightly golden.
Enjoy fresh out of the oven with a slice of butter and jam….amongst other options.
