One day, when travel becomes a thing again, I hope to try these savory Turkish snacks first hand. These are made with a shortcut of substituting tortillas for the breading, but pizza dough rolled out thin can also work. It seems the flavors from the meat, spinach and feta cheese mixture is really the star of the dish. The filling can also be made with veggies like, zucchini, mushrooms, or finely chopped potatoes.
Serve hot as a tasty treat for an appetizer, or as a meal with a fresh salad.

Heat over med-hi heat a large skillet, add a drizzle of oil and sauté onions, briefly.
Add ground beef, tomato paste, spices and about 1 tsp of salt and pepper. Cook together until meat is browned, if mixture is getting to dry a little water can be added.
Add spinach and continue sautéing, until spinach has cooked. Taste and season if needed.
Remove from heat and allow to slightly cool.
Add feta and stir together.
Heat a skillet with a tbsp of oil.
Create tortilla pocket; using warmed tortillas, spoon a little of the meat, about 1/4 cup or less, mixture into tortilla and fold in half. Lay in hot oil of skillet and briefly sear/toast gozleme.
Slice in half and serve.
