‘Burger Sugar’

This spice mixture works great with the premade patties in the pantry. It gives the burgers a little someth’n-someth’n. This recipe makes enough to cover about 6 burgers, but you could easily make a double batch and save it for later.
Generously sprinkle it on both sides of the patties right before you grill.
Serve with your favorite burger toppings and sides.

Corn and Black Bean Salad with Chile Mayo

Adjust the ingredients to fit your fancy, whether you want to add tomatoes or bell peppers or make a small portion or enough to feed a small crowd. This salad is super easy to change up and substitute with what you have on hand. This recipe is portioned for 2.

Serve as a great picnic side or as a fancy addition in your burrito or tacos.

Almond Crusted Chicken

For this recipe, you could go a couple routes depending on your likes or needs. It could very easily be made gluten-free or with different spices from your pantry. The method will stay the same, ending in crispy-almond coated chicken. Also, take note the measurements are for two large chicken breast, but can be doubled or tripled easily.
The chicken can be served alongside your favorite dipping sauce, sliced atop a fresh salad or with a pasta and red sauce meal.
Enjoy.

Sourdough “Discard” Crackers

Feeling guilty for throwing out your sourdough “discard”? Here is a perfect way to use it. It’s perfect for a snack or appetizer. Dip it in your favorite dip or add a slice of cheese.

Maple Bacon Brussels Sprouts

Maple and bacon are a dynamite combination in most situations. These Brussels sprouts are by no means overly sweet. The maple syrup helps them caramelize more intensely in the oven, and the bacon makes them salty and savory.

Sourdough Discard Banana Bread

Yes this is another banana bread recipe…but with so many wonderfully ripe bananas in the pantry every week…and perhaps you have sourdough starter “discard” that you’d like to use…then this easy banana bread recipe is a happy combination of both situations!

Zucchini Bacon Cheddar Scones

Bacon cheddar scones in the morning would be a great way to start the day… But the zucchini adds wonderful moisture to the scones AND what’s not to love about a full serving of veggies with your bacon-cheese quota?

Roast Lemon and Tomato Salad

This roasted lemon and cherry tomato salad is the perfect side dish. Sweet tomatoes combine with a tangy vinaigrette and delicious roasted lemons.

Creamy Shredded Beet Salad + Dill & Lemon

Shredded roasted beets share their earthy flavor with zesty lemon and bright dill. The ties-that-bind this all together come from a blend of creamy tahini (ground sesame seeds) and a garlicky-lemon juice. You can double the dressing recipe, which you could use to make homemade hummus.
This cold salad would be delicious with a freshly grilled piece of salmon or used as a spunky appetizer with cut veggies and crackers.
