This simple breakfast has many different names. We called it “Toad in the Hole” growing up. Why? I actually have no idea????
None-the-less, it’s a simple breakfast delight.

INGREDIENTS

 1 Piece of sandwhich bread, white or wheatOr whatever sliced bread you have, even gluten free
 1 Egg
 2 tbsp Butter
 Salt and pepper

DIRECTIONS

You need to create a hole in the center of the piece of bread. You can use a knife, a cookie cutter or even a glass jar.

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add 1 tbsp of butter, allow it to melt. Place bread in center of skillet and crack egg into the precut-hole.
The cut-out piece of bread can also be toasted in the skillet with the egg+toast.

Cook about a minute or so, letting the egg cook and the bread toast.

Flip bread over and add the rest of butter to skillet. Finish cooking.

Season with salt and pepper and enjoy!
